We all have something we want to achieve in life. You would not be reading this if that were untrue. We see proof of this daily here at Living Every Minute, as we cross paths with so many amazing people, all with different dreams and intentions.
Fascinatingly, regardless of where they are in life’s journey, each one has a secret common connection that may surprise you. In fact, this connection often takes them by surprise.
They all, at some point in their life have had to learn one undeniable, irrefutable, life changing truth. Are you ready? Here it is:
Someday, is not a day of the week.
Read that again.
It may sound simple but think for a moment about an outcome you sought that didn’t come to fruition. Or consider a time you said, “I’ve always wanted to do _________.”
Why didn’t those ambitions materialize into reality? If you do a little critical reflection, you’ll likely find it’s because you approached your goal in an abstract or passive way.
The problem with someday: is that it isn’t specific.
It isn’t measurable.
It forces you into a bubble of intention where you don’t exercise control of the outcome.
Dr. Tim has a saying he likes to use in these instances, it hits home every time:
“You can either be the horse, or the rider…
but if you don’t choose to be the rider,
life will make you the horse.”
It’s a sure bet that we have all felt that way at one time or another in our lives.
So, if our intentions are true and we know what we want, why is it so hard sometimes to stay on target in our lives? In most cases, it’s because we are thinking non-specifically, on a daily basis, about how to get from where we are to where we want to be.
Daily. Specific dates, specific times. Specific outcomes. Whether they’re baby steps or gigantic overtures to dynamic change they all come to fruition when you focus on them in a specific and substantiated way.
Not Someday. That is the difference. It’s not a question of motivation, it’s a question of deliberation.
Even the unmotivated can achieve success if they have their game plan together.
Read that again.
This is just one reason why the Living Every Minute Planner is making a difference in so many lives. It is Dr Tim’s cornerstone solution to the age-old dilemma of how to get from where you are to where you want to be. And it’s powered by a guided method to stack your priorities where you want them to be.
Your time constraints.
You at the reins.
Someday is not a day of the week.
But today is. What will you do with it?
